About

A native of the Western US, Dr. Jones was born in northern Utah. The majority of his young life was spent in Bountiful, living in the shadow of the Wasatch Mountains. This led to a deep love of the outdoors, where he cycled, camped, and hiked, taking full advantage of the water sports so close by.

After serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Guatemala from 1995-1997, he attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. There, he met his wife, Elissa, and they started their family. After graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology, he and his family embarked on new adventures and moved East.

He discovered an interest and passion for urology while attending medical school at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. This led him to a general surgery internship and subsequent urology residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. After falling in love with the people and area of New England, Dr. Jones and his family felt the pull to be back West. Graduating in 2012, they moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where Dr. Jones focused on building up the Portneuf Urology Specialists to become the premier urology group in Eastern Idaho.
